Privacy policy

Effective date: August 30, 2026

World Holidays is built to be useful without an account. We do not ask you to create a profile, and the calendar does not require your name, payment details or precise location.

1. Who is responsible for the site?

World Holidays is responsible for the editorial website and the processing described in this policy. Privacy questions, requests and corrections can be submitted through our contact page.

2. Information we may process

Information you choose to provide

If you contact us, we may receive your email address, name and the contents of your message. Please do not include sensitive personal information when reporting a holiday correction.

Technical and usage information

Our hosting and security providers may process standard request data such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, timestamps and error or security events. This information helps deliver pages, diagnose failures, prevent abuse and protect the service.

Google Analytics may also process page views, referring pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser or device details and interactions with the site. We use its aggregate reports to understand which content is useful and to improve navigation and performance.

Advertising information

When Google AdSense is active, Google and participating advertising partners may receive the page URL, IP address, browser or device information, advertising identifiers and information stored in cookies or similar technologies. Depending on your region and choices, this information may be used to deliver, limit, personalize and measure ads, and to detect invalid traffic or fraud.

3. Why we use information

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site, compliance with law, or your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

4. Google Analytics

World Holidays uses Google Analytics to measure how visitors find and use the site only after a visitor actively accepts Analytics cookies. Before acceptance, the Analytics tag is not loaded and no Analytics request is sent to Google. Rejecting or withdrawing consent disables the tag and removes first-party Google Analytics cookies created by this site. The consent choice is stored locally for up to six months. Google processes information received after consent under its own terms and privacy documentation. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

5. Google AdSense and personalized advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s previous visits to World Holidays or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show ads based on visits to this site and elsewhere on the internet.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Other advertising vendors will be identified in the consent interface where required.

6. Cookies and consent

The core calendar functions without analytics or advertising cookies. The site’s lightweight Analytics consent banner gives equal access to accept or reject Google Analytics and lets visitors reopen their choice through “Privacy & cookie settings”. Analytics stays blocked unless accepted. If personalized Google advertising is activated for eligible European visitors, it will use a separate Google-certified IAB TCF consent platform; Analytics consent does not grant advertising consent.

Read the cookie policy for a practical explanation of the technologies, purposes and controls.

7. When information is shared

Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, security, advertising, consent management and site operations. They may process data only for their service or under their own published terms, as applicable. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.

World Holidays does not sell contact messages or use them to build advertising profiles.

8. Retention

Contact correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer the message, maintain an appropriate record or meet a legal obligation. Technical logs are retained according to the hosting and security provider’s operational schedule. Analytics, advertising and consent records follow the retention periods of the relevant provider and the choices shown in the consent interface.

9. International data transfers

Some providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, they use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms. Their privacy notices provide more detail about their locations and safeguards.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a data-protection authority. Residents of some U.S. states may also have rights concerning targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information. We will verify and respond to requests as required by applicable law.

Use the contact page to make a request. You may also use the consent controls presented on the site or your browser settings to manage cookies.

11. Children, security and external links

World Holidays is a general-audience information service and is not directed to children under 13. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the site, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Links to government sources and other websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site adds countries, providers or features, or as legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a material update is published.
